About Him : |
Graduated from Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata, 1959. Worked as a Sculptor-Modeller for the Palaentological Division, Geological Survey of India. Commissioned to do outdoor sculpture and portraits. Sculpted world's largest dinosaur in fibre glass with Debabrata Chakraborty for Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad. Individually executed for the Natural History Museum, New Delhi.

Governor's Gold Medal, Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata-1959. Exhibited in group shows with Sculptor's Guild and later with Calcutta Painters in major Indian cities. Participated in major all-India Annuals including the Academy of Fine Arts, Birla Academy, Kolkata; Andhra Pradesh Lalit Kala Akademi; and Lalit Kala Akademi National Exhibitions, New Delhi. Made three solo shows. |
