Over the year Drishyapat has been effective with its productions, performances and other activities beyond periphery with a view to combating the prevalent socio-cultural malaise, born out of social and political violence on one hand and the rise of sundry obscurantist, divisive and disintegrating social trends on the other. Since its inception in 1987, the troupe’s main objective is to produce new theatre productions every year and its subsequent performances all over the country. And the troupe has still remained faithful to primary objectives with a view to cultivating new theatre language.

In order to keep up the cultural legacy of our country, the troupe has felt the necessity of sustaining and promoting theatre training and appreciation, motivating healthy dramatic activities, discovering low-cost innovative techniques of theatre and re-discovering the need for use of our rich cultural heritage and specially the indigenous traditional theatre forms for the youth.
