Bishoke Sil is born & brought up in a musician family of North Calcutta. Bishoke Started learning Sitar from his elder Sister Mira, at the age of 9 years. After that he was sent to Acharya Birendra KishoreRoy Chowdhury, the great Beenkar mastereo. Till the expiry of Birendra Kishore, Bishoke was taught in Rudra veena, Sitar, and under his guidance, Sri Sil completed Six years' course in Badya Pravakar.
