Subha Basu born in the early summer of 1946, Subha Basu was the only child of west Bengal State Government Staff. As apart of his service condition, his father had to travel to many places through West Bengal. So the poet has on wide exposarein the boath part of West Bengal- South and North.
Passing school final from Halisahar, a small town by the side of the river, Ganga. Shifted temporarily to North Bengal and after graduation from there, he came to kolkata and obtained Master of Arts’ degree from Calcutta University in 1969. After that, he engaged himself to teaching. After serving a couple of schools, he finally joined Vidyasagar evening college in kolkata and retired fro0m there on 2006. From his student-hood days, he contributed poems, book review,various articles to many literary journals of reput like Parichay, Baromas, Sahitya Patra, Saraswat,Bhasabandhan, Kabita Saptahiki, Nabanna and many others.
