Born
to a musically inclined family, Gargi took her first lessons
at a very tender age from her father, Sri Samar Bandyopadhyay,
a disciple of Maestro Manabendra Mukhopadhyay. She has received
valuable guidance by Sri Kalyan Sen Barat, Smt. Mandira Lahiri,
Smt. Shubhra Guha & Sri Debashish Ganguly. Gargi pursued
music in her higher studies and obtained a first class in masters
from Rabindra Bharati University in 2001.
She trains under the tutelage of Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty since
1999.
