Shrimati
Krishna Majumder was born in Calcutta in a musical family of
Bengal. Her father Shri Siddheswar Mukherjee was a renowned
musician who had been honoured by various institutions
D. Lit, in music was conferred on him by the Rabindra Bharati
University, Calcutta in a special Convocation in May 1995.

Shrimati
Krishna Majumder had stated her musical career at the age of 13
years by becoming a singer, She has won a number of musical competition
and has been conferred various titles by renowned institution.

She is "A" grade artist in Calcutta Station of All
India Radio from 1983 and also a regular performer in Calcutta
Door Darshan.
She has conducted Musical Lesssons on Nazrulgeeti in All India
Radio Calcutta and performed musical recitals organised by
All India Radio. Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Radio Kashmir, Jammu.
She has also performed at Door Darshan Kendra, Srinagar. She
is in the panel of judges in the State Music Academy, Government
of West Bengal Rabindra Bharati University & Calcutta
University AIR, Door-Dorshan.
She had been invited a number of times to participate at the
Nazrul Birthday Celebration at Dacca. Bangladesh by Nazrul
Academy, Dacca Bangladesh and once had also visited Bangladesh.
She is a regular performer in the Nazrul Jayanti Celebration
organised by the Government of West Bengal at Rabindra Sadan,
Akash Vani, State Music Academy, Bangla Gaan Mela, Biswabanga
Sammelan, Bangladesh, Jammu-Kashmir AIR Consert Programme.
Her first cassette was broughtout on Nazrul Geeti.
She has her own music academy "Anandam" where students
are trained to become future artists. She is also attached
to Bani Chakra Music Institution Calcutta.
Shrimati Majumder is a specialist in Nazrulgeeti and songs
of Atul Prasad. Bhajan and she keeps her audience spell bound
by her perfect and distinct style tala and laya and her charming
voice.
