Split Roller Bearing – 100, 200, 300,400 series
HKT Bearings has been supplied split roller bearing 100 ~ 400 series for decades. HKT split roller bearing is widely used for trapped position of bearing and give downtime saving to customers. Split bearings are the worker's essential requirement in terms of bringing downtime savings and work convenience. Power Generation HKT Bearings have been widely used for material handling conveyors, electric motors, fan blowers and others whose bearing position is trapped, or whose downtime loss is assumed too much in case of specifying solid bearings. Marine On propulsion system of small ship as well as big vessel, split bearings are widely used. Split Roller Rearing - SPL series
For heavy duty application, Solid Spherical bearings are normally used together with split SN, SD Housings. Housings are split, therefore ease assembly is possible, however mounting and dismounting solid bearings are very difficult and take long time. You have to remove neighborhood parts and afterwards you should lift shaft. Now, we have solution. SPL Series Split Roller Bearing can be assembled in standard SN, SD pillow blocks without time spending for removing beside parts.

HKT SPL series bearing with standard plummer block housing was mounted on marine propulsion shaft (picture 1). As picture 2, SPL series have been used to comply with trapped location without changing their existing housing. Before using SPL, customer should have spent a lot of time for assembly, inspection of solid bearing. Regarding interchange from non-standard solid bearing to split bearing, HKT offered order-made split bearing upon customer's demands. On picture 3, spherical bearing with solid housing (left side) has been converted with SPL type & split flange (right side).



Split Bearing with Water Cooled Housing and Seals 800M series, for Driven Guide Roll in Slab Caster
HKT has been specialized in steel industry for decades. The Bearing used in driven guide roll (lower segment in slab caster) should stand high temperature, heavy load. HKT Bearings provide optimum performance with Water Cooled Housing which constantly reduce temperature of bearing and housing, and also supply lubricating oil into the bearing unit. Both bearing and housing are split, thus assembly as well as inspection is very simple and speedy.

This is Horizontal segment for Slab Caster. HKT 800M series has been used on the middle of the roll. On the end of roll, spherical bearing and floating type bearing are used widely. For floating type bearing, most of machine builders are using SAC bearing type.(Please refer to next page)



Self Aligning Cylindrical Roller Bearing- SAC series



While a spherical roller bearing is installed on one side of roll in continuous casting line, rolling mill and others, SAC bearings (Self Aligning Cylindrical Roller Bearing) are widely used to the other side in order to comply with free movement of roll.



Flexible Bearing - FBL Series, for upper segments in Continuous Slab Caster
HKT Flexible Bearings (FBL series) equipped with typical spring inner race & outer race have been supplied to many continuous casting plants to comply with the demand for dust & high temperature endurable bearing of strand guiding rolls in upper segments. HKT Flexible bearings offer easy installation as well as optimum performance. Races were made as spring, so they are seated firmly on the shaft and in case of temperature increasing the spring races expand with surrounding component of force.





Split Roller Bearing -100 series, for Link Spindle
HKT 100 series bearing with large bore diameter has been used in Link Spindle of reversing rolling mill. Two pieces of bearings are mounted in one special housing to meet high reversing speed and heavy load. Hyundai Steel (Korea), China Steel (Taiwan), An Feng Steel (Taiwan), Yieh United (Taiwan) are using HKT split bearings in their link spindle.



Split Roller Bearing -100 series
In Cooling Bed, HKT split bearings with L type support have been used widely. Due to long installation time, solid bearing is hardly used. HKT split bearings with window type cage are supplied for Cooling Bed application to comply with demands of easy installations & inspections in dark, trapped and dusty circumstances.

HKT split bearing 100, 200, 300 series are used at big electric motors in rolling mill. HKT Split Bearings offer not only best performances but also large downtime savings.



Four Row Cylindrical Roller Bearing CRB series, for Rolling Mill
Four Row Cylindrical Roller Bearing, Four Row Taper Roller Bearing and pair of Spherical Roller Bearing have been used in Rolling Plant. It would be helpful if you are well noted the followings; Load carrying capacity is only one factor influencing the bearing type selection. A higher degree of accuracy can be achieved with bearings composed of parts of simplest geometry. Therefore the cylindrical roller bearing will exhibit a higher running accuracy than the tapered roller or the spherical roller bearing types. At low to medium roll speeds, bearing friction is of secondary importance. High speed rolls, however, must be supported by bearings with low friction since, otherwise an excessive buildup of temperature would result. The low rolling contact friction characteristics of the cylindrical roller bearing favor this type. Also the frequency of roll change has an influence on the bearing selection. Usually the chocks have to be removed when grinding the roll. When using non-separable bearings such as spherical roller bearings this task is made more difficult than is the case with cylindrical roller bearings where the chock together with the outer ring and the roller set can be withdrawn leaving the shrink fitted inner ring on the roll neck. Four row tapered roller bearings or pair of spherical roller bearings cannot be tight-fitted on a cylindrical roll neck seat since the inner ring can be removed with the complete bearing. So generally inner rings of these two bearing types are loose-fitted. Thus removal of the chocks will be easy; however, the field of application of these bearing types is limited due to the unsuitability of loose fits with high speed rolling.



Split Roller Bearing - 400 series
In Wire Rope Machine, cylindrical roller bearings with large bore diameter have been used. HKT is supplying Split type (400 series) bearing & Solid type bearing upon customer's demands.



Split Roller Bearing -300 series, for Bucket Wheel of Reclaimer
HKT split bearings are used in center shaft of Bucket Wheel. In most cases, 300 series are applied for Bucket Wheel Reclaimer due to heavy load. HKT have supplied 300M220B to Posco, Korea.



Pressure Roller Bearing - PRB series, for Pallet in Sinter Plant
HKT PRB series has been used for pallet in Sinter Plant. To comply with shock load when pressure roller bearings push gear-shaped drive wheels which pull pallet chain, an outer race of PRB is reinforced and full complement rollers are applied.

Thrust Cylindrical Roller Bearing with large diameter, TRB series
Thrust Cylindrical Roller Bearings are used in many application to stand axial load. There are split type as well as solid type. Picture P1 is solid type thrust bearing with 12 inch inner diameter being used in pulverizer in CESC (India) and picture P2 is picture of pulverizer. Picture P3 shows the split type thrust roller bearing.



Split Roller Bearing - SPLT type, for Primary Fan in Power Plant
Picture P4 ~ P6 are captured at CESC(Power Station, India). They were using spherical roller bearings on primary fan shaft. But in order to change bearings, they should move all the neighborhood parts including heavy motor and it causes 2 days of outage. To meet customer's demand for easy mounting and inspection, HKT have supplied SPLT type bearing without changing their existing housing. Drawings of housing and bearing might be needed in case of difficulty for identification of them.





Thrust Cylindrical Roller Bearing with large diameter, TRB series
Thin thrust roller bearing with large bore diameter is applied in CNC Vertical Lathe. The bearing performances are directly involved with performance of the machine and machine manufacturer is very careful to choose bearing manufacturer. HKT thrust roller bearing has get into this business with great performance of the bearing. Photo on right is TRB bearing with 760mm bore diameter, which has been supplied to S&T Heavy Industry.
