Literary Activities started at the age of 12 when Mr. Chatterjee was reading in class 7 in the year 1972. From early age of graduation level he tried to concentrate on writing poetry only. His poetry published on “Parer Kheya”, “Naibedya”, "Janapad – Katha”, “Smriti Satta – Sambhabana”, “Nabanakshatra” etc. From his own publication “Kaal-Joyee” Books has been published like “Jhara Patar Pathe” “Swapna Shad” etc. Self book on poem “A Amar Ananda” His Book “Kato Raat Jagi” has been publish recently. Founder & Secretary at present of Ramkrishnapur Branch of Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan, whose head office is at Delhi and which is the biggest platform of Bengali literature. Received many medel Momento certificates during participation to Kabi Sammelan, Kabita Utsav etc. Presently he is the editor of “Kiran” the Little Magazine of Ramkrishnapur Branch of Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan. During his early period of Post Graduation in English he completed the Journalism Course and engaged in this field for a couple of years. Lover of nature Mr. Chatterjee presented script in "Akash Bani" during his early thirtees. Going to establish a Higher Secondary School very shortly. He is a dreamer and fond of nature. Always he is very much thoughtful. Rabindranath Tagore is the most ideal poet to him. Holding life membership of different literary organization like “Sahitya Prayasi” Howrah writers Assossiation” Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan. He is now actively attached with Akhil Bharatoya Banga Sahitya Sammelan (Head-quarter at Bhopal). He has taken responsibility to arganise the relationship building of our Bengali Literature and language with U. K. for keen expansion. As a secratory he has already given a proper shape of Ramkrishnapur Branch and office of Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan at Delhi. He has achieved the award "Bengali Poet for the year, 2009" from Howrah Writers' Association. As a secretary, he has gained "The Best Organisor of the year 2009-2010" from Nikhil Bharat banga Sahitya Sammelan, Ramkrishnapur Branch, Howrah.

His mother Late Sujata Chattopadhyay was a famous literary personality. She had contributed the Bengali literature as Poet – cum – Writer – cum – Novelist. His brother, Dr. Arup Chatterjee (by Whom Mr. Amit Chatterjee inspired) is a renowned Doctor. (Eye Specialist), professionally staying in America.
