Gita Mazumder is one of the famous literary personalities of the modern Bengali Literature. She is contributing her literary creations mainly as ‘Poet’ but writer also. She was born on 8th April, 1949 at Krishnagar, Nadia. She had studied is krishnagar Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Nadia. She is an M.A. (English), B.T, B.Music on classical songs with distinction), M. Music on Najrul Geeti. She has retired as the Head-Miastress from Malda C.C. Girls Higher Secondary School, Malda. She was the head examiner of Enlish for West Bengal Higher Seconcary Examination.She has a wide attachment with lots of literary concerns. She writes many articles on Tours, historical places, International women’s day on different journals like ‘Bartaman’ etc. She writes on importants topics like “Sama Kaler Chokhe”, ‘Rupantarer Pathe (Malda), “Gaur Kantha – Samajik Samasyar nana Dik’. She is the member of cooch Biher and Malda (upto 2005) district of “Crime against Women”. She has acted in TV Serials. She was the speaker of Siliguri Radio for the Programmes like “Mahila Majlish”, Academic programme with students. Now, She is the literary member (General and life-member). She is the Governing Body member of Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahityas Sammelan. She is the member of various organization like ‘Biswa Banga Sahitya-o-Sammelan’, ‘World Union’, ‘Aajker Dhumketu,’ ‘Antarjatik Ananda Sambad (Bombay)’, ‘Sayak’, ‘Sadhana’, ‘Aajker Anubhab’, ‘Parijat Institute of culture’, Her writing creation are published regularly in many Little Magazines like ‘Sourav’, ‘Anupam Sathi’, “Shorgoll”, ‘Adat Katha’, ‘Dohan’ (Burdwan), ‘Darpan’, ‘Sreesh Prakashana’, ‘Kabita Sankalan’, ‘Hazar Bacharer Kabita’, ‘Hazar Bocharer Mahila Kabir Kabita’, ‘Prass (Delhi)’, ‘Kalamer Mukh’ (Memari), ‘Bikshan (Haldibari’, Cooch Behari), ‘Sammelani’, ‘Jamuna Mati’, ‘Phire Dekha’, ‘Ek Sathe’ etc.
