Adhir Bagchi is a renowned Singer and Music Director of India. Much of his reputation stems from the root of his mastery in Bengali Modern Songs, i.e. Rag Pradhan, Nazrulgeeti, Tagore Songs (Songs of Great Poets of India Kazi Nazrul Islam and Rabindranath Tagore), Hindi/Urdu Ghazals, Geet and all types of light music items.

BACKGROUND :

Born in a highly cultured family, his father Late Anil Bagchi was a reputed Composer of India specially of Bengal and he trained almost all reputed Singers of Bengal.  In Bengali motion picture Sri Anil Bagchi achieved several times, the award as the Best Music Director of the year.

Sri Bagchi received his; classical music training from Ustad Mehedi Hussain Khan of Rampur Gharana and after that he took training from Pdt. Jamini Ganguli of Calcutta and also he took training of light classical music from his father.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

• Sri Adhir Bagchi was awarded two Gold Medals from All India Music Competition in all subjects in 1959 and was also adjudged the Best Singer in Inter Varsity Youth Festival held in 'Mysore' in the same year.
  
• Sri Bagchi is an 'A' graded artiste of A.I.R. and T.V. and also an artiste of H.M.V. Megaphone Company of India. Quite a few compositions of his tunes and songs has been approved by a German Concern for CD. Genetic Drugs. He has a several Discs and Cassettes to his credit which has been released from the above company. He demonstrated as a professional singer all over India and abroad achieved immense popularity in Germany, Berlin, London.
  
• His tunes & compositions in Music he directed many Bengali Films and was awarded the Best Music Director and the Best Singer in 1980-81 from Bengali Film Journalists Association, Dishari, Chalachitra Prasar Samity & Chalachitra Puraskar Samity.
  
• Sri Bagchi has written a book "Egaroso Baroso Satoker Bangla Gaan"  in Bengali  language, which was published from 'Ananda Publishers’ an apex publisher of Calcutta.
  
• Sri Bagchi is well known to the European audience since 1993 and has made a several Europe tours and has rendered successful performances in the major concert halls of Germany, Holland, England and Welsh. He also performed in B.B.C. which has been well praised by the musicians and critics of Great Britain.
  
• Sri Bagchi is a Professor of Rabindra Bharati University, Calcutta and has numerous students in India and abroad. His reputation rests not only on his unique style but also on his sweet & melodious voice. Also he is very popular among his fellow musicians and to his audience in his country.
  
• Now Mr. Bagchi wrote a book on Music therapy and it will be published . In music therapy he will be able to cured all neurological diseases, hipper acidity, hipper tension, etc. without taking medicine.He was awarded by International Award (Michel Madhusudan award) for his life time achievement and own a Gold Medal which he received from Ex Governor and Chief Judge Mr. Shyamal Sen in Town Hall, Calcutta in the year 2006. 
• He also reduced his voice in several hit Bengali movies like :- "Antony Firingi", "Samadhan", "Dui Purush" etc.
• The songs "Bhola Moira" of "Antony Firingi" gained large popularity for year even to come.
• Present hit song written Pulok Banerjee in the film "Dui Purush" - "Behag Jadi Na Hoi Raji" still knocking in the Bengali eardrums.
