Musical Achievement :

Music career started in 1988 and the artist has taken Tallin from Sadhucharan Das, Prafulla Das and the renowned Folk-Gum Subhendu Maity. First Music Album 'Banshi Kane Bajali' was published from S.T.M. Cassettes in 2001. Second volume of the same album was published in Bangla Sangeetmela in 2003. Along with Haimanti Sukla and Raghab Chottopadhaya, the devotional album 'Jiber Gati Lokenarh' from Audiomix cassettes was published in the same year. Asian Folk Research Foundation (Delhi) conferred upon him 'Lokabaul' Award on 5th January, 2003 in recognition of his contribution to Folk Music, Fourth Album 'Rabibaul O Auler Gane Lokabaul Arindam' was published in 2004, during the Pujas. He was awarded with the title 'Srijan Bir' by the Snjan Academy, North Bengal. Bharatiya Prachin Margya Sangeet Panshad honoured him with 'Sangeet Ratna' in Folk Music for his Contribution to Folk Music and Culture in June, 2005.

Double Puja Album 'Jamai Hayona' and 'O Rupasi Kanya' were Published from S.T.M. cassetles during the Pujas 2005. A combined album with Lokasamragny' Swapna Chakraborty and another album of purely Lalan Fakir's songs are going to be published shortly. Appraisal and felicitations have been published in 'The Bartaman', 'Sarega' Patrika, 'Ajker Sanskrit! Patrika', 'The Aajkal' and 'The Ganasakti'. Besides, the artist is a regular performer on different T.V. channels. An album on 'Shyamagram Ek Rupkatha'-Banikumar Deb's autobiographical narrative has been published on rtfa. occasion of Kolkata Gaanmela 2006. Another Folk Album ‘Chikon Goalini’ is likely to be published on 23rd July, 2007.
