Manashi Roy was born in the year 1928. In the year 1948, she appeared with the short story and short / long translation in print letter, when she studies in Calcutta University after passing Bethun College in B.A. Honours. She was Manashi Roy. Gradually title has been changed. Apart from short story she started to write Novels, Drama and Essay. Since the year 1950 still now 14 books have been published. Many readers like her Novels. Radical essay make anxious some contemplative people. Her family had a musical tradition which she imbibed since childhood. Many of her friends and relatives wanted to later to in the live of music. Her mother was against the idea till her marriage. She performed in Calcutta Radio from 1960.
