Biren Saha an independent name in Bengali poetry. His vocabulary, artistic senses, creative communication and romantic attitude towards life have made his poems and other literary works a lasting impression on the discerning people.
Over three decades is wondering in Bengali library field with about thirty numbers of books of poems, Novels and collections of essays and travel writings. He was born in the village of Satgachia in Bikrampur, Dhaka in the esrt Ehile Bengal. He had school education in Coochbehar. There after he had complited his Graduation and Post Graduation from the Presidency the College Kolkata and Calcutta University respectively. He started his carrier as a lecturer in Bengali in Karimgunj College, Assam. Biren Saha later join the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt of India in late sixes. He served as assistant news editor, Director (news) in All India Radio and Doordarshan Delhi and Kolkata, and alumnus of The Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, He also served in the Ministry and I & B as Additional Director General. He has to his credit a number of literary awards. Besides he received the National Awards from the President of India for best produced journal “Dhana Dhanye” in 1980.
