Sri Debasish Biswas is the son of Late Jitendra Nath Biswas & Smt. Bimala Biswas, born in Guwahati, Assam in a middle class family. Sri Debasish Biswas is the second among four brothers and one sister. His father worked in the telephone department, the then Department of Post & Telegraph (P&T) in Assam circles. Being in a transferable job, they had to move to different parts of Assam. After birth at Guwahati, they had shift to various places like New Barrackpore of West Bengal, Goalpara & Rangia of Assam. During their stay at Rangia, the agitations against Bengalis had started. Due to that unrest, schools were shut down very often and they forced to shift to West Bengal.

After passing two years separately in different places of West Bengal, they were started to stay in Krishnanagar, West Bengal. Younger brother Sibasish and Debasish were admitted at the Krishnanagar A. V. High School, while elder Jayanta and the youngest Bibhuti were at Krishnanagar High School and the sister Susmita joined at Akshyay Vidyapith, later changed to Lady Carmicle

He passed the 10th standard in 1986 and joined Krishnanagar Government College with Science stream. Jayanta was one year senior to him and Sibasish was one year junior in the same college.

In the year of 1988, he passed the Higher Secondary. That year he appeared for the Combined Defense Service entrance examination and passed the written examination, but could not exceeded the barrier of viva, physical test, medical check-up and other tests. But to prepare properly for the trial, he started a tough and hard work out. First and foremost –running... He started to run, the journey had started.... and the running still continues...

Thereafter he graduated with Mathematics honours and joined for Applied Mathematics at the Rajabazar Science College of Kolkata University. Meanwhile, father Jitendra Nath Biswas retired from job due to superannuation and they faced financial crunch. Hence before completing his graduation he started to appear for various entrance tests for jobs.

He got employed in the Nadia Gramin Bank, a rural bank in 1992 and forced to quit the post graduation in Applied Mathematics. After one and half year service in the Nadia Gramin Bank, he had joined the Income Tax Department as an Upper division Clerk (UDC). Meanwhile he had cleared the exam of Income Tax Inspector and just after four months as UDC, he joined as Inspector in the Income Tax Department in April, 1994. Within two years of service, he had joined first in Master of Business Management (MBM) in Kolkata University and then Master in Computer Application (MCA) in Jadavpur University, but his wish of higher studies had to be buried. Those two courses were very much practical types and regular day courses, so he had to give up that hope to continue service and study simultaneously.
