The liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) are butane, isobutene, propane, propylene (propane) and butylenes (butanes). The gases are flammable, colorless, noncorrosive and nontoxic. They are easily liquefied and used either in liquid or gaseous form.

Uses:

Liquefied petroleum gases are used as fuel for heating, cooking, air conditioning and refrigeration. It is also used by industries as a standby fuel, for heating, metal cutting and welding. It is also used as a fuel in vehicles and stationary engines.
