Dr.
Chandra Majumdar is one of the leading poets of modern Bengali
Literature. Berides, she is a renowned literary personality
and till is contributing to different areas of Bengali literature.
She remains closely associated to various literary journals
published from W.B. and abroad.
She was
born on 2nd june 1939 in chowdhury family of Rajnarayan pur
village of Pabna District, Bangladesh. She started her educational
career in her village primary school but for the partition of
India, her family moved to Kulgachia in Howrah and finaly settled
at Ashoknagar, 24 pgs (N). She studied at Lady Brabourne and
Jogomaya Devi College. She obtained her M.A. and Ph.D. degree
in philosophy from the University of Calcutta. She retired as
Reader in Phylosophy from Hoogly Women’s college, Hoogly.
