Sri Ashish Kumar Gayen, the famous Bengali Poet, story writer and journalist, was born at the village named Maju under, Jagatballavpur Police Station of Howrah district. He is the youngest son of the famous freedom fighter, Ex-M.L.A of Howrah District and Ex-Parliamentary secretary of West Bengal, Late Aurobinda Gayen. Schooling from his own village school, he had completed the graduation on science from Howrah Narasinha Dutta College. Then he had joined on Govt. Service. Sri Ashish Kumar Gayen had started his devotion and creation on literature and culture from his student life. Presently residing at prasastha of Andul – Mouri of Howrah, he is stronghly acting in various fields like literature, music, drama, recitation etc. He is effectively regular writer on different types of Little Magazines, weekly & quarterly Literary Papers, Saradiya magazines etc.

Sri Ashish Kumar Gayen is actively engaged with different literary like Bangio Sahitya Sammelani, Nikhil Bharat Sahitya Parishad, Idaning Natya –O-Sahitya Gosthi, Sangeet Taranga, Kristi, Manikuntala, Kolkater Kabitar Kagaj, Saranga, Metephool, Shampa, Howrah Kabita Utsab etc. He is a regular writer of the Newspager named “Aajker Bangla” published from Howrah. There is a lot of his wonpublished books.

Govt. Police Department), writer Abdul Basar, poet mridul Dasgupta, writer Suchitra Bhattacharya etc. He has got the blessings of famous writer Abdul Jabbar, famous writer, historian and ex-central education minister Late Pratap Chandra Chandra, renowned literary personality Sunil Gangopadhyay. He has been awarded and appreciated by different organistions like “Aajker Bangla”, “Idaning”, “Sangeet Taranga:, “Ujagarh”, “Bulbul”, “Maju Public Librar”, “Chokh” etc. for his valuable literary contribution as living oriented and protesting writings. He has established his much credential in Bengali Literary and cultural arena.
