Surendranath Majumdar, a Professional Music Educator



Founder of AMEC, Surendranath is working tirelessly & selflessly to standardize music education in Eastern India and create a platform for young artists. He dream’s for “MUSIC FOR ALL” and to make his dream come true he has sacrificed his brilliant performing career and is completely focused in standardizing Music Education system in Eastern India.



Since last fifteen years Mr. Majumdar has been teaching piano, keyboards, music theory in all prestigious schools of Kolkata. A recipient of scholarship from Max Muellar Bhavan and Music University of Wuerzburg, Germany, Surendranath is one of the very few Indian pedagogic who have undergone a professional teachers training program in Germany.



Surendranath has attended many training programs of Trinity College London and ABRSM. He has the distinction of completing the prestigious ABRSM teachers training program and has been trained by several International Piano Maestros. He is an expert to teach Early Childhood Music starting from 4 years and has the rare distinction of designing a course for musicians who want to be professional music teachers.



An accomplished musician, Surendranath has won many accolades and has performed at various National and International platforms. Among the most noticeable awards won are the Best Teacher’s Award from Trinity College London, Kolkata Centre for five years in a row since 2006, awards from ABRSM for getting highest marks in different categories, Second runners up in the inter college music competition organized by R.G.Kar Medical College to name just a few. Surendranath visited Russia representing India for Tagore Festival and performed at the historic Rachmaninoff Hall of Moscow Conservatory. He has performed in the farewell concert of His Excellency the Governor of West Bengal Shri Gopal Krishna Gandhi. His performance has also been telecasted in the TV show Aaj Sakaler Amontrane. He also been honoured to judge an inter school music competition organized by Modern High School.

Working with children from a very young age has resulted in his conducting junior orchestras & ensembles at several prestigious concerts. His students are performing brilliantly and currently he has some the best piano and keyboard students of the city through whom he lives the dream of promoting orchestras and ensembles in this music loving city.
