Infertility Management :

Infertility has become a common problem in modern couples, who get married late and start family even later. This disorder can cause so much stress and hassle to couples who badly want to start their own family.
A heart to heart discussion with your gynaecologist will help you to learn more about this disorder and find various appropriate treatments that might be done. Educating yourself about infertility will even help to improve your relationship with your spouse.
Medical treatments, although bit expensive, would really help out many infertile couples. Some of the cases get positive results just by simple medications & habit modifications. Exercise and proper diet would help to combat infertility. Avoid smoking and drinking too much, as they cause serious damage to gametes i.e. sperm & ova. One common cause is Polycystie ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and laparoscopic ovarian drilling has very good success rate, resulting in pregnancy.

Laparoscopic Surgery :

Laparoscopic surgery also referred to as minimally invasive surgery describes the performance of surgical procedures with the assistance of a video camera and several thin instruments. During the surgical procedure, small incisions of up to half an inch are made and plastic tubes called ports are placed through these incisions. The camera and the instruments are then introduced through the ports which allow access to the inside of the patient.
The video camera becomes a surgeon’s eyes in laparoscopy surgery, since the surgeon uses the image from the video camera positioned inside the patient’s body to perform the procedure. Removal of Ovarian Cysts, Tubal patency test, Adhesiolysis in endometriosis, even ligation can be done by laparoscopic surgery. Many more procedures like Hysterectomy, Myomectomy can be performed by Laparoscopic
surgery reducing hospital stay and pain to the patient.

Bad Obstetrics History (BOH) :

During the past decade, tremendous strides have been made in determining foetuses at risk of an adverse obstetric outcome. The term 'bad obstetric history or BOH' is applied to mothers in whom a previous poor obstetric outcome is likely to have a bearing on the prognosis of her present pregnancy. These high-risk pregnancy cases require special attention and care, more frequent check- up and many tests including specialised Ultrasonography like Doppler Study of umbilical artery wave-from, Biophysical profile score, CTG tracing of fetal heartbeat etc.

To manage these pregnancies one has to decide the critical time of intervention - when to take out the baby? Mother's health is of prime importance, we have to ensure there's no danger to pregnant woman and her healthy baby is delivered at right time.

Adolescent Health Care :

Teenagers are a high risk group due to their Junk- food habits, lack of physical activity emotional volatility and lack of sex-education in our schools. Their problems are varied - accidents, injuries, addictions, nutritional problems like anorexia & bulimia & unwanted pregnancies.
Teenage pregnancies require special care, Physical & Psychological check ups/ counseling. They are more at risk of anemia, Preterm labor, low birth weight babies and bleeding complications. Deciding to continue or terminate the pregnancy, with no risk to pregnant teenager is an issue with immense social impact. So they deserve all help & confidentiality is maintained at all stages.
