From time immemorial, from the time of ancient Egypt,Babylon,Rome,Greece, thousands of years before the birth of Christ, people had faith on the magic of gems.It is an old thought that good stones bring good luck & bad stones bring bad luck.In the ancient age ,the person wearing a stone was believed to be a wealthy one.As thoughts change later , gems were prescribed according to the planetorial position in the horoscope. In modern age,Gemology is a part of study of Economic Geology. In India, about 90% gems sold are used as astrological remedies.
We know for proper growth in human body, vitamin is needed.Gems can be used for proper body growth.eg.Let us take the example of diseases caused by Saturn. As per medical science, due to lack of vitamin B in body we suffer from diseases like depression, orthopaedic /neurological problems, etc, which are caused by ill effects of Saturn.Doctors prescribe tablets containing Thiamine mononitrate,Pyriodoxine hydrochloride,Cyanocobalaqmine + to some extent of Titanium is added to these.Astrologers prescribe blue sapphire or amethyst or black garnet as remedial measures for Saturn. In all these stones, there is presence of Titanium to some extent. In case of paranoeia, lithium is used.Astrologically, this type of disease is caused by Mercury whose remedy is emerald, which contains lithium. So we can conclude gems, astrology & science are inter related.
How to select right gem?
Gemstones are the best way to counter adverse planetary effects ,if one is not able to devote time in chanting mantras .Choosing the right gemstone is much important than wearing a gemstone, because the right gemstone adjusts with the physiology of a human being. These should not be worn on experimental basis. In that case it will cause harm. The basic thing in selection of a stone is to be sure that light should enter into the stone. The more light does this the better is the quality of the stone. The angles of the stone should be correct & light should return back to the top of the stone after entering into it.There should not be crack or bubbles in the stone.Opeque stones are to be avoided. |
