'KATHANAK' is the brain-child of Smt. Anindita Paul to popularise our rich heritage of one of the elite classical dance form of India. She belongs to Jaypur gharana. Recipient of 'National Scholarship' in Kathak dance, from Ministry of Tourism & Culture, Department of Culture, Govt of India and Prestigious title " Singer Mani' from Sur Singer Samsad, Mumbai, Anindita is the senior disciple of three famous Gurus of Jaypur gharana - Smt Susmita Mishra, 'Sangit Natak Akademy' awardee & "padmashri " Smt Rani Karnaa and Pt. Rajendra Gangani (Kathak Kendra, Delhi), who is the grand son of one of the legendary Guru of Jaypur Gharana, Pundit Narayan Prasad Ji.
With M.A in Modern History & B.ED from the University of Calcutta, and ‘Pravin’ from Prayag Sangit Samity, Allahabad, Anindita has performed in various dance festivals all over India. One of the most
graceful dancer of Jaypur gharana, Anindita Choreographed several topics from time to time. She also has commandable knowledge in other classical dance forms like Bharatnatyam, Manipuri & Kathakali and Hindustani Vocal. But Kathak is her Passion.
From various fields, respected persons have encouraged her to teach pure dance form of ‘ Kathak’, to young generation. Thus was born ‘Kathanak’ on June, 2015 with their blessings.
