The founder and Director of Udaan, an institute that teaches all kinds of Bangla sangeet is Shri Bipratim Sengupta. He started singing at the age of seven. His first teacher was Shri A. Chattopadhyay. This was followed by Late R.K.Chattopadhyay. Later groomed by Shri Bijon Pal and had the proud privilege to have been taught by legends like Shri Hemanta Mukopadhyay and  Shri Dwijen Mukopadhyay. He learnt Nazrul geeti from Shri Dhirendra Chandra Mitra And Ghazal from Shri Gautam Mukopadhyay. He had also been able to hone his singing skills by Shri Jatileshwar  Mukopadhyay.

His Institute Udaan is a place where promising young men and women come and learn Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul geeti, Adhunik, Puratani, Shyama Sangeet, Tappa and other classical-based music.
