 Artiste Anindita Chatterjee had the proud privilege to release three Puja Albums for three consecutive years .These Puja numbers were big hits and have been eagerly lapped up by her innumerable fans.Since childhood she was very much into singing and dancing . Later her interest in singing grew to such an extent that she started participating in various singing competitions.Despite staying in Islampur she undertook the journey to Siliguri where the competitions were held and also sang for Siliguri Aakashvani.She was fortunate to obtain guidance from Biman Mukhopadhyay, Nilima Sen during childhood and later from Dr Sailen Das, Pubali Debnath Dwijen Mukopadhyay Suchitra Mitra .Her musical journey started under the tutelage of Krishna Das who was Guru of Sarbani Halder.In Siliguri she had the good fortune to be guided by Sailen Das and Pubali Debnath.Also she was under the care of Kumkum Mukherjee,Gopal Karmakar, Pintu Ray and Sulekha Boras.Currently she is a pupil of Ms Swagata Lakshmi Dasgupta.
Anindya however laments the neglect of North Bengal artistes since they come from small towns and are deprived of a proper platform.Apart from Islampur and Siliguri Where she is closely Connected she has also participated in other towns like Raigunj, Alipurduar Jalpaiguri and Others. She feels that the artistes from these towns are equally proficient as the artistes
In Kolkata and she would like to promote artistes from North Bengal in a big way.Anindya admits that the renowned danseuse Biswabati Devi with her amazing self-confidence has inspired her greatly. |
