This is a condition where there are two openings, one inside the anal canal and other outside the canal. In fistula frequent pain and discharge from the external opening causes distress. Ligation of Intersphincteric Fistulous Tract(LIFT) is one of the modern treatment of any form of fistula. Recovery is fast with less pain.

A longitudinal ulcer either anterior or posterior in the lowest part of anal canal with intense pain is received by surgery with minimal stay in hospital and with remarkable improvement from pain. Longstanding Fissure may lead to cancer.
