ATULYA GHOSH

(August 28, 1904 - April 18, 1986)

 
Shri Atulya Ghosh was a veteran freedom fighter and a back-bone of the congress movement for independence. He gave up studies and plunged into the freedom struggle while he was in teens as a student. He distinguished himself as an able organiser.That he never felt attracted by power and authority speaks eloquently of his leadership qualities. He was a strict disciplinarian and a devoted worker. Even after retirement from active politics Shri Atulya Ghosh kept himself active in social services. The Bidhan Sishu Udyan will remain as a permanent contribution of Shri Atulya Ghosh for the welfare of children. His services to the nation in general and West Bengal in particular will be remembered long by the people.

The Institute offers a variety of languages from entry to advanced which includes :
 

Foreign Languages : FRENCH, SPANISH, GERMAN, PORTUGUESE, ITALIAN, JAPANESE (Recognised by the Japanese Consulate), RUSSIAN, ENGLISH & ARABIC.

 
Indian Languages : BENGALI, HINDI, URDU & SANSKRIT.
 
LEVELS : ONE YEAR DIPLOMA COURSE ( July 2016 - June 2017 )
 
For those who are going to learn the language for the first time / have some problems with the general usage / communication inthe language.
 
By the end of the ONEYEAR Course,
 
  • You should be able to read, write, understand and speak the language of your choice in a variety of everyday communicative situations.
  • You will be introduced to the major grammatical rules.
  • You should be able to understand words and phrases by listening to them.
  • You should find yourself in a position, where you can practice your creative skills in the language.
  • You should gain an insight into the culture and customs of the country of the language.
 
ADVANCED (ONE YEAR COURSE) : ( July 2016 - June 2017 )
 
This level is for those who have language knowledge or whocan :
 
  • Understand familiar and unfamiliar words or phrases in a variety of daily situations by
    listening to and reading authentic materials.
  • Hold a conversation and express personal opinions.
  • Enhance your creative skills using the present, past and future tenses with a degree of accuracy.
  • At this level, you would expect to be using the language constantly and with some degree of accuracy. Authentic material will be used to introduce you to more complex and unfamiliar structures and grammar. The focus remains the development of your conversational skills and you would expect to be able to express opinions and ideas with some degree of fluency.
 
RULES & REGULATIONS OF ATTANDANCE
 
  1. Students must be regular and punctual for institute.
  2. On being absent a leave letter must be submitted to the class teacher, clearly stating reason for absence.
  3. Students are advised to wear l-card inside the institute premises.
  4. Students without 75% attendance will not be allowed to sit for exams.
 
EXAMINATIONS :
 
Written and Oral examinations are held in June / July.
 
* If students can't sit for the exam on the proposed examination day. They are requested to submit a letterto the Course co-ordinator stating the reason.

  1. For One Year Diploma Course
    For 12 - 16 years -> Rs. 50/- per month.
    For 16 years and above -> Rs. 100/- per month.
  2. For Advanced Diploma Course
    Rs. 150/-per month.
