Wall Vents / Louvers
Wall louvers are installed in the gable end of the attic. The higher they are placed, the more effective they become as exhaust vents. Wall louvers are not preferred for ventilating an attic, because they provide limited airflow under the roof deck, resulting in "hot spots."
Louvers have become recognized as a sustainable way to cut down heating and cooling costs and are an effective system for controlling the climate in a building and guiding fresh air in while ushering stale air out. We design louvers to fit into homes, commercial structures and industrial constructions and give customers several options to choose from when it comes to size, shape, building materials and finish.
Features:
• Allow air flow through openings in buildings
• Rejecting unwanted elements such as water and airborne debris
• Contribute to the aesthetic appeal of buildings
• Create sight-proof screens to increase privacy
• Hide equipment or create an enclosure
Benefits:
• Can be used where ridge vents are impractical, or where the homeowner doesn't want roof vents
Design Considerations::
• Adequate soffit venting must be used to meet typical ventilation code requirements
• If used in place of soffit venting, two louvers of adequate size should be installed on each end of home
• Must be placed high to be an exhaust vent |
