DSL learning sessions :
DSL believes in imparting learning in different ways. The concepts, the renditions, the methods- all are highly diverse and distinctive. We believe, learning is ineffective when it is imposed, incomplete when divorced from the inner motivation of the learner. Hence, DSL constantly experiments & modifies the learning techniques and contents. Primarily DSL adopts 5 ways of conducting management learning sessions:

Share and learn:
These are interactive lecture sessions for concept sharing. When
concepts are shared, they are received much better since, the
trainer(guru) and the trainee(disciple) get into an interesting
intellectual exchange. All the queries & doubts are clarified on
the spot. Being interactive, the boredom and drudgery of self-learning
is eradicated in this method. In our modern day management learning too
we find these sessions to be highly appealing
Share and be confident :These
sessions also act as double-edged swords. Many hidden issues come up on
the floor & get shared. This paves the way for appropriate
solutions in future. Communication as an organizational process is
getting increasingly popular by the day. It works towards escalating
employee performance. In the absence of channels of communication,
supervisors are not able to give instructions to employees and
employees are not able to understand what is expected of them.
Managers, who equip themselves in addressing groups confidently as
& when required, go a long way in performing their duties. Sitting
through interactive lecture sessions encourages them to be more
confident, communicative & open in their approach. |

No lectures, just activities : Often managers develop a notion that “lectures” are not a cup of their tea since they are “doers” & not “professors”. DSL tries to address this issue by alternating its method. Assignments & games in different ways bring out many hidden talents from within and learners get a chance to sharpen their axes. Case studies, role plays & games are some of the most popular tools under this section. Concepts are shared through participation in group tasks.
Games, fun and frolic : This is also found to be very effective. Important sharing of standardized industry norms and best practices. Cross-functional exchange take place through this method in a smooth & easy-flowing manner. While giving feedback on the given tasks, learning facilitators make significant difference to the learner’s mind-set, ideas & concepts & also his self-assessment as often these sessions are interspersed with psychometric mappings. These sessions are fun + frolic + education intertwined inextricably. |

Stress removal in the open : These are excellent stress-busting sessions with innumerable positive impacts on learning. They are conducted in open-space in exotic locations. The hills, the forests & the seas offer an excellent ambience for learning. Being completely outside the office premises, learners open up extensively during these sessions. More so, the natural surroundings make them be themselves without the official masks. De-stressing does 50% of the job in this case - the rest is achieved by making them perform completely innovative & out of the world tasks.
Can you cook ? Asking a group of 40 hungry men & women to make their own food in a remote forest bungalow could be a real challenge. When the group really gets doing so, it’s truly an out-of-the-world experience. The complexity of the task is enhanced by ordering them to perform the job from start to end without any external help. Procuring the raw material – finishing with garnishing makes the group come together so close that team bonding ceases to be a concern. All internal conflicts get substantially resolved beautifully in a desired manner. These sessions get spiced up by trekkings , raftings, forest explorations & also concept sharing in the natural surroundings. |

Ancient knowledge: According to the Indian belief system, a manager is completely ineffective if he fails to manage himself. The great minister of Chandragupta Maurya Chanakya in the 330 B.C. postulated a few “foundations” for management (mulani) .They go as follows:
- Basis of happiness is ethics (sukhasya moolam dharmah)
- Basis of ethics is resources (dharmasya mulam arthah)
- Basis of resources is kingdom/enterprise (arthasya mulam rajyam)
- Enterprise is rooted in conquering body organs (rajyasyamulam indriyajayah)
- Conquering organs is rooted in moral training/humility (indriyajayasya mulam vinayah).
Open surroundings and yoga: Even in the most recent literature of management perchance we find such a crisp and exact doctrine of success. DSL bases the management leanings in the solid foundation of history & philosophy. Hence, Yoga sessions are indispensible while in the natural surroundings. They add immense value as de-stressors, promoting discipline, controlling one’s mind & body. As a comprehensive learning solution provider, yoga sessions conducted by DSL is a specialty. |

Why culture ?
If wisdom is a diamond, culture is the reflection of light transmitting from it. Wisdom and knowledge is meaningless if not expressed through culture. Culture (from the Latin cultura stemming from colere, meaning "to cultivate") is a term that has many different meanings. For example, in 1952, Alfred Kroeber and Clyde Kluckhohn compiled a list of 164 definitions of "culture" in Culture: A Critical Review of Concepts and Definitions. However, the word "culture" is most commonly used in three basic senses:
- Excellence of taste in the fine arts and humanities, also known as high culture
- An integrated pattern of human knowledge, belief, and behavior based upon the capacity for symbolic thought and social learning
- The set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes an institution, organization or group.
|
|
|
Bring cultural aspects to management: DSL believes in all the three. Towards facilitating learning sessions, the first option among the above-stated is taken & executed very seriously. It has been found that most critical messages in organizations, while passed through generic communication, create huge uproars & misgivings. Nevertheless, the same message covered under the garb of culture creates wonders both in communicating the message & meeting the desired goals. In more ways than one, DSL uses cultural functions as some of the best effective management tools. The unique part of this is, this form of learning is completely non-threatening & open-ended where |
