Various researches have been done and it is found that thyroid cancer is three times more frequent in women than in men.
How does it develop?
Thyroid gland is the main area where thyroid cancer develops. The thyroid gland is the chief source of important hormones that help control blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, metabolism and many more other functions. The major types of thyroid cancers include papillary follicular, anaplastic and medullary cancer.
However, exposure to high levels of radiation, family history of goiter and certain specific hereditary syndromes are considered to be the main reasons for thyroid cancer. Our expert oncologists recommend that people who had received radiation of very strong power in their childhood should certainly be examined by a specialist every one or two years to avoid such predicament.
