Can endometriosis scar tissue be removed?
Laparoscopy. If endometriosis is suspected, laparoscopic surgery may be planned to diagnose and treat women with endometriosis. The surgeon removes any visible endometrial implants and scar tissue at the same time as the diagnostic procedure.
Is scar endometriosis normal?
Endometriosis following a C-section, or cesarean delivery, remains relatively rare, but it is a potential complication. It can cause scar tissue to develop, which may cause pain. Endometrial tissue typically lines the uterus. Classic endometriosis occurs when endometrial-like tissue develops outside of the uterus.
What is laparoscopic surgery for scar endometriosis?
They'll use the laparoscope to find areas of endometriosis. They'll attach special instruments to the laparoscope to remove any affected tissue. After your surgeon removes the endometrial tissue, they'll remove the laparoscope and the instruments. Finally, they'll close the incisions with stitches.
Can I get pregnant with scar endometriosis?
The longer you've had endometriosis, and the older you are, you're likely to have scar tissue. Having more scar tissue and endometrial tissue can impede sperm and may also obstruct the pathways of your fallopian tubes. This makes it difficult to impossible for your eggs to leave your ovaries, preventing conception.
